Many congratulations to Sheila Gurnett who has been awarded an MBE in the New Year honours list for her service to children and young people as a Guide Leader and Community worker in Buckinghamshire. Sheila has been involved with Guiding as a leader for 48 years and has held various roles including being a leader with Brownies and Rainbows, Division Commissioner, County Commissioner, Guiding Development Adviser at both county and region level and a trainer. It is wonderful that the time and energy Sheila has given, and continues to give, to both Guiding and her local community has been recognised in this way.

June 2011 - New photos added to a new page about Ellesborough Guide Centre.
June 2011 Olympic Badges - we have been made aware of a few instances where Olympic Games-related fundraising badges have been produced or developed in local guiding areas. Unfortunately, there are tight restrictions around logos and certain words associated with the Olympics which are protected by law. Through selling a badge, it could be argued that an organisation is making a commercial association with the Games, even if the money is for a charitable cause. If you are considering producing any badges please check the guidelines.
