NEW Bucks Bulletin - Spring 2010 edition

February 2010: Professor Sarah Fraser is one of our Girlguiding Bucks Ambassadors. We gave Sarah one of the centenary ducks and challenged her to take it with her on her travels and photograph it in various places. Sarah lectures all over the USA, Canada & Europe - she has taken up the challenge and taken 'The Ambassadorial Duck' with her, set up his own duck blogspot and posts her pictures on it. Sarah has even managed to get the Ambassadorial Duck on the flight deck of a jumbo jet and on the bridge of one of P & O's cruise ships! Visit her blog

January 2010: Barbara Davis has received an MBE award in the New Years Honours list for services to the youth of South Bucks. Barbara has held a number of Guiding Appointments over the years including Ranger Guider, Young Leader Adviser, Duke of Edinburgh Award Adviser for both county and region and Chair of the county finance team. As well as supporting Guiding Barbara has done extensive work with the young people of South Bucks which has been recognised with this award. Well done Barbara!

2009: Girlguiding UK launched a national centenary challenge - see what we did to Change the World!

November 2009: The Map and Compass company has recently become a partner with Girlguiding UK, so that all Guides in the UK can now receive a 30% discount on all Ordnance Survey maps when using the website.Map & Compass 30% discount on OS maps

October 2009: Our Centenary Poetry competition book has been published, the winners and further information on how to buy your own copy are now available, go to Poetry book page. All girls who entered the competition should have received certificates.

Feburary 2009: Rikki Mackenzie, ex County Commissioner was presented the Silver fish (GirlguidingUK's top award at a surprise ceremony! Rikki thought she was coming to open the rebuilt kitchen (which she did after the presentation when she was surprised to find the Chief Guide, our Region Chief Commissioner and her family among the guests!

February 2009: Now that the Anglia Nights Away badges have been out quite a while, the Region OAA, Camp and Holiday Advisers have agreed that Guiders can buy 25 nights badges 'over the counter', as well as the lower numbers of nights, and do not need to order them through their Counties.

2008 news

May 2008: The new host Brownie Pack Holiday Adviser for the Caldecotte Project in Simpson, Milton Keynes is Tanya Oldland. Tanya can be contacted on toldland76@aol.com. A/A forms for Brownie holidays for Caldecotte should now go to Tanya.
