Trefoil Guild - what is it?
Trefoil Members are members of Girlguiding UK but maintain a separate identity. An organisation of over 20,000 members – mostly made up of women and men who have been and still are connected with Guiding and Scouting.
The aims and objectives of the Trefoil Guild are:-
- To keep alive among their members the spirit of Guiding
- To carry the spirit into the communities in which members live and work
- To give practical and moral support to Guiding and Scouting

The main aim of the Trefoil Guild is to support Girlguiding UK. Trefoil Guild provides friendship, fun and activities and opportunities for their members as well as supporting Guiding in their communities. Trefoil Guild is about meeting with friends, developing interests, taking on new challenges, outings and holidays as well as helping with District, Division, County, Region, National and International activities.
Who can be a member?
Full membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 who has been a member of the Guide or Scout Association or who makes the Guide Promise.
Associate membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 who holds either a Leader’s Appointment or a Appointment in Girlguiding UK or a Warrant in the Scout Association.
Affiliated membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 who has not made the Guide or Scout Promise who subscribes to the aims and principles of the two Associations.
