Want to try some alternative baking with your unit? All you need is a few tasty ingredients, a plastic zipper bag and your own armpit!

To make a single portion, you’ll need:

• 50g icing sugar (half a cup)
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 2 teaspoons cream cheese
• A dash of vanilla essence
• 2 teaspoons cocoa

What to do:

Place all ingredients in a sandwich-size plastic zipper bag, squeeze out all of the air and ensure it’s tightly sealed. Place the bag in your armpit and squish and jiggle it until all the ingredients are well mixed and it has a creamy consistency. To make it extra tasty, you can add in some extra flavours like raisins, peanut butter, nuts or some M&Ms. The mixture should be ready to eat now, so grab a spoon and enjoy!

Close their eyes and draw whatever the leader suggests eg horse.

4 tablespoons self-raising flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract (optional)
1 large coffee mug

– Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
– Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
– Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
– Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
– Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high).

The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

The other Guides are allowed to guess who she is.  If they guess right they can go next.  If they guess wrong they ar not allowed to ask any more questions or guess again.

Brownies hands and feet are each worth 2 points, their head is worth one point.

Leader calls out a number.
Brownies can only have that number of points touching the floor.

Based on the book ‘Kim’ by Rudyard Kipling where Kim is training as a spy and needs to improve his memory.

Put a number of items on a tray and uncover it for 1 minute for the girls to look, then recover it and give them a set time to try and remember all the items.  Either prepare the tray in advance and take photo which you can then display on your screen using the screen share facility or blue tac the items to the tray and hold it up in front of the camera.

The Knife, fork and spoon game  has all girls with the cutlery (plastic, mismatched, anything really) leader either has cutlery as well or we had several words (knife, fork, and spoon) in a bag. Girls all choose an item of cutlery to hold up, leader takes piece of paper out of bag with name of cutlery(or holds up item of cutlery) if girls have same as leader then they are out, game continues until last man standing.

Use natural product eg raw eggs for fask masks.  More suitable for Rangers.

Use the white board facility to draw, points to the first to guess and points to the person drawing if it is guessed within a time limit.

70g SR flour
10g butter or margarine
3-4 tbs milk
Cheese
Tomato puree or sauce
Topping of choice

Make sure hair is tied back and wash your hands.

Turn your oven on to 180°C.

In a bowl put the flour and butter.
Rub the butter into the flour either using the back of a spoon or clean fingers.
Add the milk a little at a time and stir, keep adding until you get a ball of dough.
Flatten the dough out as much as you can onto a baking sheet.
Top with tomato puree or sauce.
If you have a favourite topping and your parents/carers says you are allowed you can put some on top.
Grate the cheese and sprinkle over the top.

Put in the oven carefully, ask for help from an adult if you are not sure.

Check after 10 mins to see if the cheese has melted and it is cooked, if not check again in another 5 mins

This activity definitely comes with a warning about where you do it,  gardens were used, driveways and park areas. Adult help was necessary, enormous amount of fun

• Bicycle Pump
• Two litre lemonade/ water bottles
• Wine Cork
• Sports Ball inflation needle (common on most bicycle pumps)
• Duct Tape
• Sharp Knife
• Drill or awl(optional)

1. Take a wine cork and stick it into the soda bottle’s opening to test and make sure that it fits in snugly. The seal has to be tight, so if your cork doesn’t fit then look for a larger cork – or you can wrap the cork with tape to slightly increase the diameter.
2. Remove the cork from the bottle and use a sharp knife to cut the cork short enough so the bike pump needle is longer than the cork. If you look closely at the top of the inflation needle you can see a small opening that needs to stay exposed. If the cork has been taken from a used wine bottle, the hole may already be in place, so you won’t have to do the next bit.
3. (Using a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the inflation needle, drill into the center of the cork all the way through. If you don’t have a drill you can punch through the cork with an awl or a nail. The important thing is that the drilled hole is smaller than the needle. Only need to do this if its an unused cork)
4. Push the needle through the drilled opening to check that needle eye is completely unobstructed when inserted into the cork.
5. This rocket works by building pressure inside the bottle, with the cork being ejected when the pressure builds up. The opening where the cork was will be where the thrust for the rocket will be expelled. Because of this, the cork needs to fit very snugly in the bottle opening. Remove the needle from the cork and insert the cork into the mouth of the bottle and check the fit.
6. Before blasting off you’re going to want to source an area outside, since it’s going to be a messy launch. Find an open location away from people, power lines, buildings, and trees, and make sure you’re able to get the area wet (like a field or the driveway).
7. Invert the rocket and fill the bottle about 1/5th full of water. The water in the rocket is the reaction mass that will help launch it high into the air.
8. To prevent any water loss, it’s a good idea to insert the inflation needle of the pump into the cork first and then install the inflation needle into the bike pump before plugging the bottle opening with the cork. This ensures a very snug fit before upending the bottle.
9. Turn the rocket right side up and place it on a level surface in preparation for launch. Ours were rested against various items to ensure they stood upright and not facing anybody.
10. When you’re ready to launch, start pumping the bike pump to build up pressure inside the bottle. You’ll hear the bottle bubble and fill with air. With enough pumps, the pressure inside the bottle will build to a point where it overcomes the friction holding the cork in place and jettison the cork and inflation needle, sending the rocket skyward! You may need to hunt for the cork and needle if it becomes detached from the bike pump after launch.

We didn’t make fins or decorate our rockets, if we had the fins could have been what the rocket had stood on ready for launching. This would have taken up too much of our zoom time, but are definitely worth considering with some strong cardboard.
